What to watch on day eight of Wimbledon 2017

The full order of play and schedule for Tuesday July 11 at Wimbledon 2017 sees four women’s quarter-finals take place, while Novak Djokovic and Adrian Mannarino return on Centre Court after Gilles Muller’s epic victory over Rafael Nadal, which lasted close to five hours, meant they couldn’t take to court on Monday. Play is live on Centre Court from 12.00pm local time/BST, while the action kicks off on Court 1 at 1.00pm.

Djokovic and Mannarino launch the action on Centre Court in what is a rematch of last year’s Wimbledon showdown, which the Serbian won in straight sets before going on to suffer a shock loss to Sam Querrey.

Djokovic and Mannarino have the right to feel a little hard done by, with Wimbledon organisers not opting to move them onto Centre Court on Monday, meaning the winner won’t have a day off before Wednesday’s quarter-finals.

Four highly-anticipated women’s quarter-finals then follow. Five-time champion Venus Williams takes on French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko in what promises to be a colossal battle of power-hitting on Centre Court. At 37 years of age, Venus is 17 years older than 20-year-old Ostapenko, who has continued her stunning form from the French Open onto the lawns of Wimbledon, beating fourth seed Elina Svitolina in straight sets in the R16.

Home hope and bookies favourite Johanna Konta squares off against second seed Simona Halep in the final match on Centre Court. Konta has survived some torrid battles so far at The Championships, beating Donna Vekic 10-8 in the third and then overcoming Caroline Garcia in a gruelling three-set encounter in the fourth round - will she have enough left in the tank for Halep, who is gunning for the duel prize of the No. 1 ranking and Wimbledon title and is coming off a big win over Victoria Azarenka.

Garbine Muguruza and Svetlana Kuznetsova launch the action on Court 1, with the Spaniard and 2015 runner-up aiming to back up her superb victory over top seed Angelique Kerber, while Kuznetsova is looking to reach the semi-finals at SW19 for the first time. A surprise quarter-final then concludes the day’s play, with CoCo Vandeweghe - an Australian Open semi-finalist this season - looking to end the dream run of Magdalena Rybarikova.

Djokovic will be hoping to make light and swift work of Mannarino, with the winner returning for the quarter-finals in less than 24 hours time

Fascinating clash in prospect - Muguruza was brilliant in taking out Kerber, but Kuznetsova's greater variety might see her make a first Wimbledon semifinal at the age of 32

17 years separate these two grand slam champions, with Venus looking to end the 11-match slam winning streak of Latvian sensation Ostapenko in the quarter-finals

Fascinating clash of styles as the powerful Vandeweghe aims to end the fairytale run of the crafty Rybarikova, who is 17-1 on grass in 2017

Halep and Konta are 2-2 but have never played on grass. Could Konta's big serve help her be the first British woman to make the semifinals since 1978?
