Second seeded Murray will take on Tomas Berdych as the two face off in their semi-final fixture at the centre court. Murray defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in an entertaining five-set clash on Wednesday evening.

The Briton had won the first two sets but the Frenchman fought back to win the next two sets. Murray sensed an opportunity in the final set and went for the kill, eventually winning 7-6(10), 6-1, 3-6, 4-6, 6-1.

He had earlier defeated Liam Broady, Yen-Hsun Lu, John Millman and Nick Kyrgios in the first four rounds here. He beat them all in straight sets.

Berdych downed Lucas Pouille in straight sets in the quarterfinal to make it into the semis. He won the first set tie-breaker against the Frenchman and went on to win the contest 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-2.

Earlier in the tournament, the Czech Berdych had managed to overcome challenges from Ivan Dodig, Benjamin Becker, Alexander Zverev and Jiri Vesely. He had to work hard for his win over Vesely with the latter taking their fourth round contest into the fifth set.

These two men are no strangers to each other with 14 previous contests in the past. Murray has won eight of those matches with Berdych winning six. Murray has won all four head-to-heads starting from the Australian Open semi-final last year and should start as the favourite to make it into the final.

Third seed Federer will be up against Milos Raonic in his semi-final contest as he seeks to add to his tally of Grand Slam titles. Federer fought against all odds to come out on top of Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals, beating his opponent 6-7(4), 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(9), 6-3.

The former world number one had been in imperious form going into the quarterfinal. He had managed to beat Guido Pella, Marcus Willis, Daniel Evans and Steve Johnson in the first two rounds and he had not dropped a set doing so.

Canadian Raonic defeated Sam Querrey in four sets in the quarterfinals. Querrey had ousted Novak Djokovic from The Championships this year in the fourth round.
Raonic had started with a win over Pablo Carreno Busta in the first round here. He followed it up with wins over Andreas Seppi, Jack Sock and David Goffin in the second, third and fourth rounds respectively.

Federer has won nine of the 11 previous head-to-heads against the Canadian. They have met at the same stage at the 2014 Wimbledon with the Swiss winning in straight sets. They last met at the final of the ATP Brisbane earlier this year with Raonic winning in straight sets.
