In a tournament littered with upsets on both the men’s and women’s side, we’ve got the eighth seed coming up against the 12th seed on Sunday as Kevin Anderson and Novak Djokovic square off for the 2018 Wimbledon title.

Anderson has been the marathon man of The Championships, coming back from two sets and a match point down to conquer defending champion Roger Federer before edging John Isner 26-24 in the fifth in what was the longest Wimbledon semi-final in history - and the second longest Grand Slam match of all time. Does the South African have anything left in the tank as he aims for his maiden major crown?

Djokovic meanwhile has taken his resurgence to another level over the last fortnight - and his thrilling five-set triumph over great rival Rafael Nadal was arguably his best performance since completing the career slam at the 2016 French Open over two years ago. Is the Serbian ready to secure a fourth Wimbledon title and 13th Grand Slam trophy?

It promises to be a spectacular final showpiece as another thrilling Wimbledon comes to a dramatic climax on Sunday - but who will emerge triumphant with the silverware? We go over all the numbers, stats and quotes ahead of the final below.

Quotes ahead of Wimbledon final

Novak Djokovic

"I don't know if I'll be the clear favourite in that one. I think we're quite even," Djokovic said of facing Anderson. "He played the US Open final last year. He's definitely playing the tennis of his life. He's coming off from two epic marathon five-set wins. I don't think he has much to lose really tomorrow. He's going to come out with big serves and big tennis. Hopefully I'll be able to weather the storm."

Kevin Anderson

“You're really in a war of attrition out there. It's way beyond a normal tennis match or tactics. I mean, it's just who's going to outlast each other,” Anderson said after his epic victory over Isner. “I'm ecstatic to be through to the finals. At the same time you feel like it should be a draw. But somebody has to win.”
“At the US Open I was in the finals. Maybe I felt sort of my crowning achievement was actually getting to the finals,” he added. [I’m] definitely hungry to go one step further.”
