The majority of matches at this year’s season-ending championships in London have been one-sided - and all four of Djokovic’s have been dominant straight sets triumphs - so expect the title match between the World No. 1 and third seed Zverev to follow that trend and end with the Serbian capping an extraordinary last six months with a record-equalling sixth ATP Finals crown.

On a 15-match winning streak against top 10 players and with an overall 35-2 record since the start of Wimbledon, Djokovic is the undisputed best player in the world at the moment, and he has proven that once again in London - including against Zverev, whom he beat 6-4 6-1 earlier this week in the round robin stage.

Arguably the best returner in men’s tennis, Djokovic has been even more impressive behind his own delivery this week, winning over 80 per cent of service points in three of his four matches, while he out-aced the giant Kevin Anderson in Saturday’s semi-finals 6-4.

When the world’s best returner is serving with those numbers, Djokovic is even more invincible than usual, which is why I expect the World No. 1 to cruise to victory on Sunday.

Zverev produced one of his best performances in months to take out Roger Federer in straight sets on Saturday by playing extremely aggressive tennis, but with all due respect to the 37-year-old, he isn’t on Djokovic’s level right now in regards to defence and ability to get that extra ball back in play. Djokovic’s ability to retrieve is second to none, and he will force Zverev to go for more depth and accuracy on his groundstrokes as a result - which will likely lead to frustration and more errors on the German’s part.

Add in the fact Zverev admitted he was feeling tired at this stage of the season earlier in the week and is coming off a turbulent win over Federer when the crowd booed him in the on-court interview, and the third seed is more than up against it on Sunday. The 21-year-old also conceded he ran out of steam during his straight sets loss to Djokovic earlier in the week.

Coming into a match against Djokovic at anything less than full fitness is dangerous, and I’m not sure Zverev has it in him right now to beat Federer and Djokovic back-to-back or even make a competitive match out of this final.

The pair’s match earlier in the week was under 20.5 total games and I think we’ll see a similar scoreline and another Djokovic victory in Sunday’s final.
