Former World No. 1 Sir Andy Murray took some time out from nursing his surgically repaired hip to enjoy a day out at Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday.

Murray attended Ladies Day at the renowned Cheltenham Festival with wife Kim alongside some other famous faces, including the likes of Liz Hurley, Sir Alex Ferguson, Jeremy Kyle and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Judging by the photos, Murray certainly enjoyed his day out at the races - and he may have even backed a few winners if this photo from his mother is anything to go by!

Murray is currently in rehabilitation after undergoing a second round of hip surgery after falling in the first round of the Australian Open.

It’s still unknown as to whether Murray will be able to feature at Wimbledon or on a tennis court in any professional capacity in the future.

Speaking recently about his recovery, Murray said:

“I would hate to go on the court at Wimbledon and for something bad to happen. Or to feel really bad and apprehensive and for it to go really badly.

“I wouldn't want that to happen. I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing that, going straight into a Slam without having any preparation or seeing how it feels. It's possible (that he will be at Wimbledon). This is a big surgery and operation I've had.

“The main reason for having the operation was to not be in pain any more, and I'm not. I'm delighted with that. What happens next, I don't know exactly.

“I don't have any reference. No one has done an operation like this and gone back to playing. It was never considered.”
