It’s the final week on the ATP Challenger Tour with action continuing in Pune and Andria on Wednesday, and we have selected our three best bets for the day.

Radu Albot to beat Maverick Banes, Pune Challenger, live from 2:30pm local time/ 9:00am GMT

Top seed, Radu Albot continues his Pune campaign on Wednesday when he takes on Australia’s Maverick Banes in the second round.

Former world number 81, Albot, who reached the third round at Wimbledon this year, and made the semi-finals at the Moselle Open in Metz, started his tournament with a 7-5 6-3 victory over India’s Sumit Nagal. Victory over Nagal ended a run of two consecutive opening round defeats, as the Moldovan had failed to win a match in Shenzhen and Bangalore. However, prior to that, he did claim his first title of the season at the Liuzhou Challenger.

Wednesday’s opponent, Banes, also has one Challenger title to his name this season, having won in Gwangju, but he arrived Pune in poor form on the Challenger tour, as he had lost seven of his eight previous matches at this level. The world number 264 did win a Futures title in Australia during that spell. Albot obviously operates at a much higher level than that, and the top seed should march on with victory over the Australian on Wednesday.

Prajnesh Gunneswaran to beat Lucas Gerch, Pune Challenger, live from 4:00pm local time/ 10:30am GMT

We went with Prajnesh Gunneswaran to get the straight sets win against Tsung-Hun Hua on Tuesday, and he delivered, recovering from an early break in the second set to close out a 6-4 6-4 victory, and the in-form Indian makes our list yet again for Wednesday, as he takes on the 794th ranked German qualifier, Lucas Gerch, who is playing in an ATP Challenger main draw for the first time in his career.

He marked his first appearance at this level with a very impressive 6-3 6-1 victory over American, Collin Altamirano in the opening round, but his run will most likely come to an end on Wednesday, when he runs into India’s No. 1, Gunneswaran, who is seeking back-to-back Challenger titles this week, having won in Bangalore over the weekend.

Paolo Lorenzi to beat Andrea Pellegrino, Andria Challenger, live from 8:00pm local time/ 7:00pm GMT

Veteran Italian, Paolo Lorenzi opens his bid for the Andria title on Wednesday, when he plays compatriot, Andrea Pellegrino. Lorenzi boasts two Challenger titles this season, while he also reached the second round at Wimbledon and the US Open, where he upset Kyle Edmund in the first round. While his recent form hasn’t been the greatest- he has lost in the second round in each of the last four tournaments, the former world number 31 should still be too strong for the 452nd-ranked Pellegrino, whose 2018 best were quarter finals at the Qujing, Francavilla and Florence Challengers.
