The XXV Italiacom Open will reach an exciting conclusion today with a singles final to be played between Sara Errani and Barbora Zahlavova StrycovaYou can watch and bet on Errani v Zahlavova Strycova live for free at bet365 > live tennis
It seems like Sara Errani is incapable of playing in a clay court tournament without reaching the final these days. With the exception of her Premier-level lull in Rome and Madrid, the Italian has been in scorching form throughout the season, which has seen her crack the top ten. Her latest achievement has been to reach the final of the XXV Italiacom Open.
Errani hasn’t allowed her level to drop throughout the week, and she made it through to today’s final by recording a convincing 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Irina-Camelia Begu on Saturday. The top seed’s next opponent will be Barbora Zahlavova Strycova. The Czech did her bit to set up the clash by edging a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over British youngster Laura Robson.
Errani holds a 2-1 head to head lead against Zahlavova Strycova, and is likely to have the advantage again with this contest being played on the red dirt. Whilst a few people are writing Zahlavova Strycova off, the underdog seems undaunted by the task ahead. After all, she has nothing to lose after winning the doubles title here with Renata Voracova last night.
“I've played a lot this week in singles and doubles, but I don't think I'll be tired tomorrow,” announced the Czech. “I'll be fresh until Monday.”
