WTA Moorilla Hobart International 2013 semi-finals will be played on Friday with both the remaining seeded players making it through to the last-four stage.

First to take court today will be eighth seeded American Sloane Stephens, who takes on Elena Vesnina in their semi-final. Vesnina was an easy, straight-set winner over Australian wild-card entrant Jarmila Gajdošová, while Stephens needed three sets to overcome fellow American and qualifier Lauren Davis.

Stephens won 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 to make it the semis. 

Kirsten Flipkens will be a part of the second semi-final on Friday as she takes on ninth seeded Mona Barthel in their last-four match. 

They recorded contrasting wins in the quarter-finals, with Barthel dropping six games in her victory over Tsvetana Pironkova while Flipkens overcoming the loss of the first set before beating Monica Niculescu.
