Victoria Azarenka and Agnieszka Radwanska will meet for the sixth time this season on Saturday at the Mutua Madrid Open, and we should be in for an intriguing semi-final. Azarenka defied Na Li on Friday in three sets to set up this clash, whilst Radwanska held firm against American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko for a straight sets win.
Azarenka is the clear favourite ahead of Saturday’s contest for the simple reason that she’s got a 5-0 record against the Pole this season, and has won the last three of these matches with apparent ease. The odds of 2/7 on offer from BetVictor for Azarenka to win might appeal to some as easy money.
There will of course be a few people that are expecting Radwanska to finally get her own back on the Belarusian. To date, Azarenka is the only player to defeat Radwanska all season, so the world No. 3 can hardly be said to be lacking form. If you’re looking for a long shot, the 3/1 currently being provided by Ladbrokes for Radwanska to prevail seems a good price.
