Bojana Jovanovski has recorded some decent results in recent months, with a title success in Baku and a number of good displays in Dallas. The Serb has been able to halt her slide down the WTA rankings, and now ranked No. 72, she's the sixth seed in this week's WTA Tashkent Open.
Jovanovski has made a solid, if unremarkable start. A three set victory over the unfancied but talented Dinah Pfizenmaier has set her up for a second round showdown with Eleni Daniilidou. Daniilidou is a five-time WTA titlist but she's not expected to make a big impression in this event at this stage of her career.
Following meetings in Istanbul in 2010 and Wimbledon 2012 the Serbian holds a 2-0 head to head record against Daniilidou. We can expect her to complete the hat-trick today. The Greek's poor 17-27 match record for the season is hard to overlook, and a 6-4, 6-2 dismissal of lucky loser Monica Puig in round one isn't enough of a reason to start backing the world No. 101.
