Juan Ignacio Chela plays Pablo Andujar in a repeat of last year's Bucharest final.
Chela is defending the title he won in 2010 with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Andujar in the final. Chela's never had too many problems against the upcoming Spaniard, leading 3-0 on the head-to-head with all the wins coming on clay.
Chela has returned to form this week after some indifferent displays in ATP 250 events in July. Returning to Bucharest has been quite special for him after his spectacular success here last season, winning both the singles and doubles titles. He enjoyed an impressive quarter-final win over seventh seed Andreas Seppi and Andujar will have to find another level if he's to stop the Argentine.
Andujar ended the run of Italian qualifier Alessandro Giannessi 6-3, 6-4 in the last eight but it wasn't as comfortable as it looks on paper. Giannessi converted just one of ten break points and if he'd managed to be a bit more clinical it could have been a very different story.
Prediction: Chela in two.
