Raymond has two chances to secure that elusive Olympic medal today and this is probably her best shot. She won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title with Bryan last month and they've been the third seeds this week.

They didn't drop a set in their opening couple of matches against Sara Errani and Andreas Seppi and then Juan Martin Del Potro and Gisela Dulko. And they pushed Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi mightly close in the semi-finals before the class of the Belarussian pair eventually shone through as they claimed a 3-6, 6-4, (10-7) victory.

Lisicki and Kas will be ruing missed chances as they battled back from a set and 4-2 down against British pairing Andy Murray and Laura Robson in the semi-finals. The Germans stunned second seeds Liezel Huber and Bob Bryan in the opening round but they made a terrible start against Murray and Robson and they only really began to show some intensity on court when it looked like it was too late.

With the Robson serve faltering, Lisicki and Kas hit back to force a champions tiebreak but with Murray to the fore, the Brits held strong to win 6-1, 6-7(7), (10-7).

Prediction: Raymond and Bryan in two.
