It was bronze for Djokovic four years ago after losing to Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals and it will be bronze at best for him again after a straight sets defeat to Andy Murray on Friday.

Djokovic has enjoyed some of the best moments of his career when representing his country in the past but through his losses at the French Open and Wimbledon, he's lost his aura of invincibility and Murray played the match of his life to end his friend's dreams of gold.

However Djokovic agreed that the chance of winning another Olympic medal is still a big motivation for him. "Yeah, it is, definitely," he told the press. "I will try to wake up tomorrow, you know, compose myself, try to gather all the positive energy, as much as I can.  Motivation is always there, obviously.  Try to repeat the success that I had four years ago."

Djokovic will certainly not be as demoralised as Del Potro who came desperately close to reaching the Olympic final, losing 19-17 in the third set to Federer and afterwards the Argentine was struggling to take any positives at all from the match.

If he reproduces that sort of form then he certainly has a chance of winning bronze but the likelihood is that Djokovic will clinch victory in straight sets.
