Ana Ivanovic is hoping to make an impact at her first Olympic Games after suffering disappointment in Beijing four years ago.
Ivanovic is 100/1 with BetVictor to win gold in London. Serena Williams is the favourite at 7/4 with bet365
Ivanovic will be competing in the singles and the mixed doubles with Nenad Zimonjic and the former world number one has an outside chance of winning a medal.
The 24 year old has been enjoying greater consistency this year, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open and Wimbledon but her 6-1, 6-0 hammering at the hands of Victoria Azarenka at the All England Club showed how far she has to go to get back to the top of the women's rankings.
However Ivanovic is currently buzzing at being part of an Olympic Games for the first time. She was one of the favourites for gold in Beijing but after travelling to China she had to withdraw before the competition got underway with a thumb injury.
"There's so much energy and excitement in the air," Ivanovic wrote on her official website earlier this week. "This is a very special time to be in London and I feel privileged to be here. I've dreamed about playing in the Olympics for many years, and withdrawing from the 2008 Beijing Games was probably the toughest moment of my career."
"Being in the Olympic Village in China, with all the other athletes, and practising at the facility, it just adds to my expectation and eagerness to step onto court here to compete. I will visit the Village this week but then during the tournament I will be busy with practice, matches and recovery (I'm playing singles and mixed doubles with Nenad Zimonjic), so I probably won't be able to go and watch other sports, which is a shame. Everyone I have met so far seems so happy to be here and now we just can't wait for the Games to begin."
Unfortunately bet365 will not be streaming the Olympic Games but you can bet live in-play on every match at bet365 > live tennis
