Max Mirniyi & Daniel Nestor will continue their ATP World Tour Finals campaign against Mariusz Fyrstenberg & Marcin Matkowski in this evening's session at the O2 Arena.
Max Mirnyi & Daniel Nestor are the number three seeds at this year's ATP World Tour Finals and they have arrived at the tournament believing that they can win. For Nestor it would be a third successive Finals title, although the Canadian's previous two were secured with former partner Nenad Zimonjic.
Mirnyi has proved to be an adequate replacement for the Serb and the big serving Belarusian partnered Nestor to the French Open title earlier this year. The pair also won the recent Shanghai Masters and reached the semi finals of the Paris Masters and so come into the tournament in London's O2 Arena in good form.
That was evident in Mirniyi & Nestor's opening win over Rohana Bopanna & Aisam Qureshi on Sunday. They will look to make it two from two this evening, when they take on Mariusz Fyrstenberg & Marcin Matkowski, and it is 8/13 at Paddy Power
that they beat the Polish pairing.
Frystenberg & Matkowski cannot, however, be taken lightly. They produced a surprise win over Llodra & Zimonjic in their opening match and come into this match as beaten finalists in the most recent Grand Slam (the US Open). They are 6/5 to win today's match although Mirniyi & Nestor's superior experience has to be respected.
The Belarusian and Canadian will be keen to win today, in order to avoid a 'make or break' qualification clash with Llodra & Zimonjic and that motivation should see them through, although it wouldn't be a surprise if the match went to a champions tie-break.
