With almost identical records heading into the final, Serbia and Spain look set to provide us with an entertaining finale to the 2013 Hopman Cup. The two nations are arguably the biggest powerhouses in world tennis right now and this meeting should provide us with an exciting taste of what to expect in the Davis Cup and Fed Cup this year.
With Novak Djokovic in the lineup Serbia appear to be the favourites. The Djoker is pretty much unbeatable on his day and nobody is expecting him to lose his singles rubber here. Whilst Fernando Verdasco is a very capable opponent, Djokovic has been playing at an unbelievable level for the past two years.
Ana Ivanovic gives Serbia a good chance of closing out the tie in two matches. The former world No. 1 remains as determined as ever and has what it takes to see her nation over the finish line. That said, Anabel Medina Garrigues is no pushover and few would be majorly surprised to see her earn a point for Spain.
Should the clash go down to the wire we’ll see a doubles clash between the four players. Djokovic and Ivanovic appear to have great chemistry as a team and they’ll perhaps be the favourites to win that contest.
