The Hopman Cup 2013 final will be played on January 5 at Perth with Serbia to take on Spain.
Both sides ended up at the top of their respective groups, winning all their group matches. Spain defeated South Africa, France and the USA in their three matches while Serbia overcame Italy, hosts Australia and Germany in their round-robin matches.
First up will be world number one Novak Djokovic, who takes on 24th ranked Fernando Verdasco. In their 10 meetings against each other, Djokovic and Verdasco have won five times each but their last match came way back in April 2010. It should be an interesting and a tough match.
Ana Ivanovic will be next on court and she takes on Spain’s Anabel Medina Garrigues in their singles match. Ivanovic and Garrigues have played each other four times before this and the Serbian’s only loss came in their first meeting in 2004 at Luxembourg.
The last match of the final, if required, will be between the mixed doubles teams of both the countries. Djokovic and Ivanovic will take on Verdasco and Garrigues in that match-up.
