Hopman Cup 2013 continues on January 4 with the last round of league matches to be played today.
South Africa take on France in the first tie of the day, with the result of this match not amounting to much. With Spain having already qualified for the final from this group, South Africa and France will be aiming to get off their poor showing so far.
Both sides have lost both their opening matches and will love to register a win before the end of the tournament.
South Africa’s Chanelle Scheepers will be up against Mathilde Johansson of France in the first match of the day before Kevin Anderson and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga go head to head. The third and the final match of the tie will see the Scheepers-Anderson pair take on Johansson/Tsonga in a mixed doubles encounter.
The evening session at Perth will see Serbia take on Germany. As things stand currently, Germany are already out of the tournament without a win so far while Serbia have a couple of wins from as many matches.
A win for Serbia will pull them through to the final but if they lose, then it will be down to whether Serbia can win a better percentage of sets than the second-placed Australia.
Novak Djokovic takes on German veteran Tommy Haas in the first singles match of the tie before Ana Ivanovic plays Tatjana Malek. The final match of the encounter will have Djokovic and Ivanovic partnering against Haas and Tatjana Malek.
