Belgium's Maxime Authom finds himself as the top seed at this week's Lexington Challenger. Authom takes on Greg Ouelette in the opening round.
Ranked 179 in the world, Authom would not normally be top seed in one of the US hard court challengers but the Olympics has weakened the fields of all the ATP events and challengers over the next couple of weeks.
It's a great chance for the 25 year old who will be hoping to find the kind of form which took him to the Rimouski challenger final at the start of the year. He's playing well at the moment, narrowly missing out on qualifying for Wimbledon last month and making the quarters in Granby last week.
However he has a potentially tricky opener against 26 year old Ouelette. The American is ranked 383 but he reached the quarters in Binghampton last week, losing to eventual finalist Fritz Wolmarans.
Ouelette will have the support of the Lexington crowd but look for Authom's class to prevail in two close sets.
