Following an exciting week of tennis in Prague, the stage is set for an eagerly anticipated final on Sunday between Martin Klizan and Horacio Zeballos. Klizan, a former Junior champion at Roland Garros, is a young competitor with all the skills required to push on and become one of the ATP’s best clay court players. Zeballos, on the other hand, is known to be very adept on this surface, and already has a fair amount of top level experience.
Heading into this contest, these two players have never met in any recognised ATP competition. It’s hard to tell who’s going to pull through and lift the trophy. The players are only separated by 16 players in the official ATP rankings.
Regardless of who wins, this should be an intriguing final. Klizan has been looking confident all week, and hasn’t once come close to losing. He hadn’t dropped a set prior to the semi-finals. Zeballos has been locked in some tense matches, but ultimately has performed superbly to defy top seed Dudi Sela, seventh seed Matthias Bachinger and fourth seed Tobias Kamke on his way to the final.
