Unheralded duo Adrien Bossel and Michael McClune clash in the quarters of the Binghamton Challenger having knocked out the second and eighth seeds earlier this week.
Bossel is enjoying a bit of a breakthrough season and he's closing in on his career high of 345 which he reached a couple of years ago. The Swiss has enjoyed a couple of stunning weeks, taking out big serving Aussie (and former top 100 player) Chris Guccione in round one before beating former world number 49 Adrian Mannarino 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(4) in the last round.
McClune has been around in these sort of events for a long time, never managing to get higher than 267 in the rankings. The experienced American stunned Roger Federer's friend, second seed Marco Chiudinelli in the first round. Chiudinelli has been struggling for form recently and has also had some coaching problems and he was far from his best. Hserved for the match at 5-4 in the deciding set but missed four match points before going down 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(5).
Prediction: Bossel to take his chance and win in three sets.
