Photos of Friday's action at the Toronto Masters with defending champion Novak Djokovic winning two straight matches to reach the semi-finals.
He may have been kept on court until the small hours of the morning but Djokovic's Toronto title defence is still alive after a draining day of tennis. First of all he had to see off the in-form American Sam Querrey in the third round before 34 year old veteran Tommy Haas pushed him all the way in the quarters. Haas actually hit more winners than Djokovic but the top seed was just a little too solid as he claimed a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory.
And Djokovic's close friend Janko Tipsarevic was extremely impressive as he saw off dangerman Marin Cilic 6-2, 6-4 in the last sixteen before beating Marcel Granollers to make the semis for a second successive year.
And in the bottom half of the draw Richard Gasquet was on fire, sweeping aside Tomas Berdych and Mardy Fish to set up a semi-final clash with John Isner.
