Roger Federer takes on Juan Martin Del Potro for the fourth time in 2012 in the Indian Wells Masters quarter-finals.
Del Potro has suffered three times this season at the hands of Federer, losing to the Swiss in Rotterdam, Dubai and Melbourne. Federer has not even conceded a set to the Argentine this year and appears to have got well and truly into his head.
However Del Potro will be encouraged by a couple of shaky performances from the Swiss. Federer may be on a 14 match winning streak but he was close to crashing out in the fourth round before eventually seeing off Thomaz Bellucci 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
"I really struggled to make the transition [from yesterday's match]. I was quite surprised, but at the end I found a way, dug deep and came through," Federer said. "It's really important. At the end of the day, these are the wins that sort of almost feel better, to be quite honest, because when you're playing great, it's simple, and it's easy."
Del Potro did not have things his own way either in the fourth round, being seriously tested by Denis Istomin in Wednesday's late night clash, eventually prevailing 7-6(2), 6-7(6), 6-2.
Prediction: Federer to grind out another win in two close sets.
