Richard Gasquet and John Isner clash in the Toronto Masters semi-finals with the bookies rating Isner as the favourite to prevail.
Isner is the slight favourite but we reckon the bookies may have got this one wrong having watched both of Gasquet's matches on Friday. The Frenchman is serving superbly and playing some of his best tennis on hard courts for some time. He's got good memories of Toronto after making the final here back in 2006 (losing to Roger Federer) and he'll be keen to get into another Masters final.
Gasquet is 13/11 to win outright with Pinnacle Sports
and perhaps more attractively, 4/1 to win in three sets with Stan James
Isner and Gasquet are 1-1 on the head-to-head with both matches going the distance so it seems that this one will almost certainly need three sets to separate them.
Gasquet crushed Tomas Berdych yesterday before handing Mardy Fish quite a drubbing in the final two sets of their quarter-final. Isner also played extremely well to beat Philipp Kohlschreiber and Milos Raonic but he didn't look quite as razor sharp as the Frenchman.
Gasquet can be up and down from one week to the next but if he's serving well he's always dangerous and that's why we think he'll make the final.
