Top seeded Djokovic will take on ninth seeded Croatian Marin Cilic in the second fixture of the afternoon at the court central. Djokovic started with a straight sets win over Gilles Muller in the second round here after having a bye in the first round. He held off Grigor Dimitrov in the third round despite having lost the first set to the Bulgarian. The reigning world number one beat Dimitrov 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday to enter the quarterfinals.

Cilic has had a good tournament so far after having entered the draw here on the backs of a title winning effort at the ATP Basel. He had a bye in the opening round here before going on to beat Ivo Karlovic and David Goffin in the second and third rounds respectively. The Croat won both contests in straight sets.

This will be the 15th career meeting between these two men. Djokovic has dominated the head-to-head contests and has never lost to Cilic in the past.

British second seed Murray will take on seventh seeded Czech Tomas Berdych later in the evening at the court central in the third quarterfinal fixture of the day. Murray started off with a three set win over Fernando Verdasco in the second round here after which he downed Lucas Pouille 6-3, 6-0 in the third round. The Briton has won the title in the last three tournaments that he has featured in. A title winning effort here in Paris will see him become the world number one.

Berdych beat Joao Sousa 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in the second round here after having a bye in the first round. He went on to tame Gilles Simon 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets in the third round in order to enter the quarterfinals.

These two men have met 15 times in the past. While Murray has won nine of those fixtures, Berdych has prevailed in six. However, Murray is going into this contest as the favourite after having won the last five head-to-head contests back-to-back.
