Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova star on day nine of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
The women's quarter-finals conclude today with Sharapova taking on Maria Kirilenko and Ana Ivanovic up against Marion Bartoli. Sharapova reached the Australian Open final in January and she'll be heavy favourite against the speedy Kirilenko. The court surface here is quite slow which has helped Kirilenko but Sharapova's yet to come close to dropping a set so far.
Ivanovic's clash with last year's runner-up Bartoli could be a potential classic. The Serb has been brilliant this week, hammering defending champion Caroline Wozniacki in a brutal display of baseline hitting two nights ago and if she can keep that up, she could go all the way.
Djokovic is up against clay-court specialist Nicolas Almagro in the first match of the day and after a shaky display against Pablo Andujar, look for normal service to resume for this one.
And in the opening match of the night session, John Isner looks to keep the American flag flying when he takes on Gilles Simon. Their fourth round clash at the 2011 US Open was an epic and this one could be similar. We're going for Isner to prevail in a dramatic final set tiebreak.
