ATP Gstaad 2013 gets underway on July 22nd and Brazil's Thomaz Bellucci will be going for a hat-trick of Swiss Open titles.
ATP Gstaad 2013 runs from July 22nd - 28th.
The 2013 Swiss Open will be the penultimate event of the European clay-court swing and Bellucci will almost certainly be back after enjoying a fantastic week in 2012. The Brazilian left-hander defeated Feliciano Lopez and Janko Tipsarevic to claim the third ATP title of his career and his second Gstaad title (he won the event as a qualifier back in 2009).
"Gstaad is very special for me because I won my first title here three years ago, which was a surprise and unexpected," Bellucci said. "For me to win one more time here is very special. I feel very comfortable here, like I’m playing at home."
Tipsarevic is also likely to return in 2013 after coming desperately close to winning his 2nd clay-court title. The Serb lost to Bellucci in a tight three setter and afterwards declared, "This was my first time in Gstaad and I honestly don’t know why; I should have come and played here more often. It’s an amazing event and a great tournament."
