Wimbledon 2011 has provided plenty of shocks and Sabine Lisicki will be hoping to stun Maria Sharapova in the semi-finals of the women’s singles
There was high drama on Centre Court yesterday, with Roger Federer being knocked out of the men’s singles by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga which goes to show that there is no such thing as a dead cert at Wimbledon.
Maria Sharapova might be strong favourite to win her second Wimbledon crown, although the Russian faces the big-serving Sabine Lisicki and this promises to be a close match, with the German having already accounted for Li Na.
Meanwhile, Victoria Azarenka is the slight outsider to beat Petra Kvitova in the other women’s semi-final which again promises to be a keenly-fought affair. Kvitova has looked slightly more impressive in her matches to date, although Azarenka has also dropped just one set en route to the semi-finals.
