Rafael Nadal's odds have drifted on the Wimbledon betting market after the Spaniard sustained an ankle injury against Del Potro that could force him to retire from the tournament

Rafael Nadal produced an excellent performance to win his fourth round match against Juan Martin Del Potro on Monday which was even more remarkable when you consider the Spaniard injured his ankle towards the end of the first set.

Nadal admitted after the match that he thought he might have to retire against his Argentine after slipping on Centre Court in the first set, one that the world number one eventually won on a tie-break.

"It was a very, very difficult match against one of the best players in the world," Nadal said.

"I don't know what the problem was, it seemed like it was in the bone of the foot. I will check tomorrow. At first I thought I had to retire. I felt something really strange at the end of the first set, at 6-5. I have to check with the doctor, my physio and the physio of the ATP. I don't know. Something is bad."

Nadal’s odds have started to drift on the outright market and Canbet actually offer 4/1 about the Spaniard, with similar odds available on betfair.

It means that Andy Murray’s price has contracted and the Brit is now a best price 9/2 with Stan James, with the world number four facing a potential semi-final against Mardy Fish rather than Nadal.
