After winning the longest match in tennis history John Isner will be back on court at Wimbledon today, less than 24 hours after his victory.

Having beaten Nicolas Mahut 70-68 in the fifth set of a match lasting just over 11 hours, Isner now faces Thiemo de Bakker in Wimbledon's second round.

"I knew it was probably a big deal around the tennis world, because this is Wimbledon. So anybody that follows tennis, all eyes are on this tournament. It was when I got back to the locker room that I realised how big of a story it was really worldwide." Isner revealed after his marathon match.

"I'm going to do everything necessary to get ready," said Isner who will be playing for his fourth consecutive day. "I definitely think I can win." Isner added.

De Bakker's fifth-set win over Santiago Giraldo in the first round took a mere four hours and six minutes and finished on Wednesday.

If Isner is wins the match then his marathon continues as he will be expected to play his third round match on Saturday.

Isner faces de Bakker in the first match on Wimbledon's Court 5, the live stream is scheduled to begin at 1200 BST.
