“My main goal was to get into the main draw,” claimed Barthel after her 6-0, 7-6(6) semi-final victory against compatriot Angelique Kerber. “'I've played against so many good players and I've played a lot of good matches here so, of course, it gives you confidence that if you're playing your best, you can beat everybody.”
“I'm not that nervous on the court,” continued Barthel. “I just enjoy it a lot and I don't feel any pressure right now because I have nothing to lose.”
