Victoria Azarenka maintained her good form in Sydney, earning a berth in the final of the Apia Sydney International with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Agnieszka Radwanska. Despite making a slow start to the match, Azarenka quickly found her feet to once again demonstrate why she could be one to watch in the upcoming Australian Open. She will now face Na Li in the final.

Li also came back from a heavy first set loss, beating world No. 2 Petra Kvitova 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. “I didn't know what happened. She was playing so flat and deep. I had no chance to hit the ball back deep,” remarked Li. “I called my coach and he said if I kept playing like that, I would lose the match easily. Like maybe after 50 minutes we could go to the airport. I'm not even joking. He said I have to believe I can do better, just try to play my best.”

Li now feels that she’s back to her best. “Yeah, I'm back,” stated the French Open champion. “I'm feeling stronger, in the body and mind. I'm just trying to do better - not like what I was doing the last half year. My goal every year is I want to do better than the year before.”

The fans in Sydney will now be preparing for what should be a thrilling final. Li and Azarenka are both amongst the world’s best, and could both feature in the latter stages in Melbourne. It will be intriguing to see who can claim the title on Friday.
