Roberta Vinci and Simona Halep will meet on Tuesday in round one of the WTA Paris OpenYou can watch and bet on Vinci v Halep live for free at bet365 > live tennisRoberta Vinci enjoyed a terrific season last year, in which she unexpectedly shot up the rankings and got inside the top twenty. The Italian will be hoping for more of the same in 2012, though her early form suggests that she might not be able to replicate her 2011 feats this year. It’s still early days though, and she can get right back on track with a lengthy run at the WTA Paris Open.
First up for Vinci will be Simona Halep of Romania. Halep is currently ranked outside of the top fifty, but she’s only twenty years-old, and still has plenty of potential left to fulfil. Like Vinci, she’s not made a particularly explosive start to the season, and will be doing her utmost to add at least a few more victories to her tally for 2012.
Vinci seems to be the favourite here, though Halep’s ranking is deceptive. On her day she’s a very talented player, as we saw at Wimbledon last year when she took Serena Williams to three sets. This matchup between Vinci and Halep could turn out to be a very close contest.
