Petra Kvitova will take on Daniela Hantuchova in the quarter-finals of the Apia Sydney InternationalYou can watch and bet on Kvitova v Hantuchova live for free at bet365 > live tennisPetra Kvitova was given plenty to think about by Alexandra Dulgheru on Tuesday, as the Romanian came ever so close to knocking the world No. 2 out of the Apia Sydney International in round two. The Czech will be relieved to have eventually prevailed, though she’ll also be feeling a little fatigued as her 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win took just less than two hours and twenty minutes to complete.
“It's my first match in the tournament and the first outdoors,” explained Kvitova when the match was finished. “I played four matches in Perth, but this is really different. I have to be playing in these conditions with the wind and sun. I need to play some outdoor matches before Melbourne. When I play outdoors it's the biggest problem for me. But today the serve was really good for me.”
Kvitova will now face Daniela Hantuchova in the quarter-finals. This promises to be a challenging matchup for the second seed, as Hantuchova looked to be in great form in round two as she dismissed former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. Kvitova will deservedly remain the favourite for this meeting though, even if she’s anything but guaranteed to storm through the final four.
