Na Li will be up against Lucie Safarova in the quarter-finals of the Apia Sydney InternationalYou can watch and bet on Li v Safarova live for free at bet365 > live tennisNa Li managed to work her way out of a difficult situation on Tuesday, coming back from a set down to win her second round meeting with Chanelle Scheepers at the Apia Sydney International. Li appeared to be fairy comfortable once she’d settled into her game, yet seemed rattled by the South African’s rampant start in the first set.
Speaking in a recent interview, Li revealed that she’s only recently adjusted to life as a slam winner, and that she’s managed to refocus on her on-court duties. “After the French Open I couldn't concentrate on the court any more because I had to do so many things off the court,” admitted Li.
“I couldn't just practise or something. Sometimes if I practised, so many people would come to ask me questions, to do an interview, photo shooting. This was a really tough half year for me. But now I totally understand what I should be doing on the court.”
Li seems to be in an ideal frame of mind going into her quarter-final showdown with Lucie Safarova, who progressed with a 6-1, 2-0 retirement win over Svetlana Kuznetsova. “Right now I don't feel any pressure, because right now is the start of the new season and I just look forward to playing.”
