Kim Clijsters will be looking to extend her run of form in Australia on Friday when she takes on Daniela Hanuchova in the semi-finals of the Brisbane InternationalYou can watch and bet on Clijsters v Hantuchova live for free at bet365 > live tennisKim Clijsters is clearly in top form in Brisbane, and she’s sailed through to the semi-finals despite having only just returned from a lengthy absence from competitive tennis. The Belgian stormed past Iveta Benesova 6-3, 6-2 in the last eight, and seems to be ready to give her semi-final opponent, Daniela Hantuchova, a huge challenge on Friday.
"In my previous match I lost my focus a bit so I was determined to not let that happen today," remarked Clijsters after her match against Benesova. Her determination clearly reaped dividends, as the Czech never looked like winning the contest. Although Benesova hit a number of impressive winners, she was unable to prevent the former world No. 1 from dominating.
Clijsters has avoided Samantha Stosur and Serena Williams in her run-in to the final four, but she feels that she’s not had a straightforward path to the latter stages. “I know you guys say 'you didn't have to play Sam in the quarters or Serena in the semis' but that's sport - nothing is predictable.”
“I came out knowing that I had to play some of my best tennis, like I would if I had to play Sam or Serena.” Looking forward to tomorrow’s meeting with Hantuchova, the Australian Open champion said, “I think it is going to be a similar situation (as Benesova) - she is a very good ball striker.”
