Agnieszka Radwanska faces a tough quarter-final matchup against Sabine Lisicki on Thursday at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis ChampionshipsYou can watch and bet on Radwanska v Lisicki live for free at bet365 > live tennisAgnieszka Radwanska continues to make solid progress at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, and she edged closer to the title on Wednesday with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Israeli wildcard entrant Shahar Peer. Peer can be a tricky customer, so the Pole will surely be pleased to have gotten over the finish line in straight sets. Her next challenge will be a quarter-final showdown with Germany’s Sabine Lisicki.
Lisicki produced a polished display in the second round to get past Iveta Benesova 6-3, 6-3. Lisicki was at her dominant best with some fierce serves and powerful groundstrokes, and the Czech qualifier couldn’t quite manage to get a foothold in the match.
Lisicki enjoyed a terrific season in 2011, and building upon this, she’s climbed up to No. 13 in the world rankings, just seven places below Radwanska. To add to this, the German defied Radwanska in Stanford last year, claiming a 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-2 victory. This is the only previous competitive meeting between the pairing to date.
We should be in for another close match between these two, and it’s certainly not easy to pick a winner here.
