Juan Martin Del Potro will be seeking revenge when he faces Lleyton Hewitt at the Washington Legg Mason Classic, in a rematch of the Wimbledon second round clash.
Del Potro lost to 2002 Wimbledon champ Lleyton Hewitt in the second round of this year's Wimbledon, the victim of a 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 beating.
On Thursday at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Del Potro will get a chance of revenge, on his prefered surface and at a tournament he won last year.
Del Potro is ranked sixth in the world and he recently enjoyed a trip to the French Open semifinals, where he led Roger Federer two sets to one before falling in five. Del Potro, seeded second for his title defense, is an impressive 35-10 so far this year.
Hewitt is also a former Washington champ, having taken the title back in 2004. The resurgent Aussie is 25-13 this season after dispatching Donald Young and Dudi Sela so far this week.
However, Del Potro is the clear favorite fr this clash, and a minor right knee problem for Hewitt tips the balance even more in Del Potro's favour.
