At this time the ladies Wimbledon 2009 Championships looks set to be won by one of the Williams sisters, but is there value elsewhere?
Neither of the Wiliams have showed any kind of crack in their armour as they have both cruised through their matches so far. Even on the doubles' court, where they are seeded 4th they are enjoying success. Needless to say they are the top two favorites to win Wimbledon 2009.
Here are the players left in Wimbledon's women's singles who are better than 20/1; all odds from Bet365's Wimbledon outright market.
1. Serena Williams (81/50)
2. Venus Williams (2/1)
3. Victoria Azarenka (13/2)
4. Dinara Safina (11/1)
5. Svetlana Kuznetsova (16/1)
6. Caroline Wozniacki (16/1)
7. Elena Dementieva (18/1)
The Williams sisters are still both convincing bets but there's certainly better value within that group. You could put bets of equal value on Azarenka, Kuznetsova, and Dementieva and due to the odds involved you would still profit if one of them won.
Dementieva's draw has really opened up as she will not have to face someone of top ten ability until at least the semifinal. That would put her in close proximity to the finals and close to winning, barring that she gets upset in the round of 16 or the quarters.
Azarenka is a pick worth making as well as she is considered to be the only player that could overpower both or one of the Williams sisters. She has been the most dominant player so far in this tournament highlighted best by her second round victory, where she won both sets at love in an embarrassment of Ioana Raluca Olaru.
At 13/2, Azarenka is worth the bet but not for very much longer.
