Rafael Nadal claimed his second Wimbledon title with a straight sets defeat of Tomas Berdych. You can watch live tennis for free at bet365>live streaming>tennis Nadal was not at his very best but he stepped up through the gears when necessary and was typically ruthless on the big points which made all the difference in his 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 win over Berdych.
Berdych paid for concentration lapses at critical times particularly at the end of the second set. The tiebreak was within reach but serving to stay in the set, Berdych’s forehand fell apart and Nadal took full advantage.
Berdych will be disappointed he did not hit the heights of his performances against Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic and he did not serve anywhere near as well as he needed to do today. However neither Federer or Djokovic can counter-punch as well as Nadal when on form and on the rare occasions where the Czech managed to steal the upper hand in a rally, he soon found himself on the receiving end of a vicious forehand.
It’s a sweet victory for Nadal who was unable to compete last year due to the knee tendonitis who persistently plagues him. The Spaniard is back as the undisputed world number one and he will have his sights firmly set on completing the career Grand Slam at the US Open, the one major he has yet to win.
