Why you shouldn't be wagering on a Wimbledon first round upset this year.

Live-tennis staff took a look at the last three Wimbledon Championships in both men's and women's results combined and discovered something not too surprising - bets against anyone seeded in the top ten look like a big waste of money.

There have been 60 top ten seeds in both singles draws in the last three years and they, the top seeds, very rarely fall in the first round.

When the men's draws and the women's draws are combined for 2006, 2007, and 2008 an examination clearly reveals that players with a ten seed or better are incredibly unlikely to go down in the first round.

In those 6 tournaments (3 men's, 3 women's) only 4 top ten seeds fell in the opening round meaning even at odds of 10/1 money on an underdog is just being thrown away.

Do not try to pick any major upsets until at least the second round and then look for a top seed that struggled to win his/her first round match.  If you are looking to wager on first round matches involving a top seed, our recommendation is to pick the favorite and run a parlay bet with two or three other favorites and hopefully all of your bets dodge the underdog.

Bet365 is offering live streaming of Wimbledon this year and they offer parlay bets as well.  You must have a funded account to enjoy the live streaming and, of course, to make bets.
