Following Rafael Nadal's decision not to defend his Wimbledon crown because of knee injuries the men's Wimbledon draw has been blown open.

With the top seed sidelined, fifth-seeded Juan Martin Del Potro was moved from the bottom half of the draw, replacing Nadal on the top line in an opening-round match with Arnaud Clement.

Del Potro could face 2002 Wimbledon champion Hewitt in an intriguing second-round match. The Argentine has lost in the second round in his two previous appearances at Wimbledon but demonstrated in his semifinal loss to Federer at the French Open that he has the game to contend for a Grand Slam.

Juan Martin del Potro is currently priced at 20/1 with Victor Chandler to win Wimbledon 2009.

Nadal's absence creates a killer opportunity for Murray in the top half of the draw. A year ago, Andy Murray was poised to move into the top 10 in the rankings and managed to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

This year, Murray comes to London ranked No. 3 in the world, fresh off winning his first singles title on a grass court at Queen's Club.

Murray, who didn't drop a set at Queen's, could be be tested as he tries to emerge from his half of the draw. Murray potentially faces Ernests Gulbis in the second round at Wimbledon and faces a potential quarterfinal match against 10th-seed Fernando Gonzalez.

Andy Murray is currently 2/1 with SkyBet to win Wimbledon.

Andy Murray could face sixth-seed Andy Roddick in the semifinals. The American Roddick reached consecutive Wimbledon finals in 2004 and 2005 and has been playing with huge confidence in 2009.

Roddick has been slowed by an ankle injury that forced him to retire at Queen's Club. If his mobility is not limited by the injury, Roddick's huge serve should be enough to carry to carry him to at least the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Andy Roddick's latest Wimbledon odds are currently 25/1 with Sportingbet

Roger Federer will be looking to be make tennis history at Wimbledon by winning a record-setting 15th major championship and sixth Wimbledon title in seven years.

Federer's first opponent will be Yen-Hsun Lu at Wimbledon and could see Robin Soderling in the fourth round in a rematch of the French Open singles final. If the seedings hold, Federer's potential opponents in the quarterfinals are seventh-seed Fernando Verdasco or the No. 9 seed, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Before falling to Nadal in the final last year, Federer's last loss in London came in 2002 making him the deserved favourite at odds of 10/11 from SkyBet.

A name that hasn't been mentioned as a contender by many is Novak Djokovic. The Serbian lost to Tommy Haas in Halle and will be looking for some Grand Slam redemption in London.

The No. 4 seed may have to get past Marin Cilic, who reached the fourth round at Wimbledon last year, or James Blake to advance out of this portion of the draw.

Novak Djkovic is available at odds of 11/1 from Bet365, however it'd probably be worth checking him out in the first round of Wimbledon first to make sure Djokovic has adapted his game to the grass court before placing a large bet on him.
