The WTA Tour comes to an exciting climax ahead of the WTA Championships with the last Premier event of the year, the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.
The five week Asian swing is over and with the WTA Tour nearly finished for 2011, attentions are already shifting towards Istanbul for the eight-player, end of season extravaganza that begins on October 25th.
There's still one final place to decide and Marion Bartoli will be attempting to complete mission impossible and book her spot in Turkey. The Frenchwoman won the Osaka title last week and she needs to make it back to back titles in Moscow this week, plus hope that Agnieszka Radwanska loses her opening match against either Lucie Safarova or qualifier, in order to pip the Pole for eighth place.
The odds are firmly against Bartoli particularly with a field which also includes Vera Zvonareva, Francesca Schiavone, Jelena Jankovic and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
For world number five Zvonareva, it's a chance to get some momentum going ahead of the action in Istanbul and the same goes for Radwanska who has been the form player of the autumn after winning back to back Premier titles in Tokyo and Beijing. She's on an 11 match winning streak and will be favourite for the title.
