Vania King plays Sandra Zahlavova in the first round of the Monterrey Open on Monday.

King is predominantly a doubles specialist who also enjoys reasonable success in singles on the tour where she’s ranked 75.  She has not been past the second round of a WTA event in singles so far this year but in doubles she is enjoying plenty of success, winning a title in Memphis a few weeks ago.

Zahlavova is ranked at a career best of 86 after a good couple of weeks in South America where she reached the quarter-finals in Bogota. She had a standout year on the challenger circuit in 2009, winning multiple titles.
