Elena Dementieva heads a classy field for the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.

Dementieva, the world number nine, won this title two years ago, defeating Caroline Wozniacki in a high quality final. The Russian has already booked her place at the end of year WTA Championships in Doha and she will be hoping to maintain her form from the Asian indoor swing earlier this month, where she made the Tokyo final.

The rest of the field are fighting for spots at the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions in Bali. Second seed Aravane Rezai has not been in the best of form recently but is guaranteed a place having won the Bali title last year.

Ana Ivanovic is one of the favourites both this week and in Bali. The Serb ended an 18 month title drought at the weekend, triumphing in Linz and she looks set to make a surge back up the rankings.

Third seed Yanina Wickmayer is also in fine form having stepped down a level last week to win an ITF challenger event in her native Belgium.

Also watch out for Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky who stunned everyone by coming through to win the Luxembourg title last year.
