As world number seven, Dementieva is huge favourite for the title and she has not dropped a set en route to the semi-finals, destroying Slovakian seventh seed Magdalena Rybarikova 6-0, 6-3 in the last eight.
Left-hander Bammer, one of a handful of mothers on the WTA tour, has had things a little tougher. Ranked 50 she was seeded sixth this week and was taken to three sets by Taiwan’s Kai-Chen Chang in the quarter-finals.
Dementieva leads Bammer 3-1 on head-to-heads with two wins over the Austrian in the past couple of years. The last was in Dubai last year, Dementieva winning 7-5, 6-2.
