Caroline Wozniacki goes for two straight titles in the Gulf at the Qatar Ladies Open.
Doha has hosted the WTA Championships for the past few seasons and top level women's tennis has returned to the city in the early spring for the first time since 2008.
Vera Zvonareva finished runner-up in this event last time it was held and the Russian will be keen to prove a point after a couple of tough losses in Pattaya City and then Dubai last week.
However Wozniacki will be strong favourite to notch up successive WTA Premier titles after winning the prestigious Dubai crown without even dropping a set, demolishing Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets.
Look out for Kuznetsova once more. The Russian toughed out some epic three setters last week, turning the tables on her Aussie Open conqueror Francesca Schiavone.
Jelena Jankovic performed several Houdini acts in Dubai on the way to the last four and it was good to see the former world number one back in the groove after enduring a tough end to 2010.
Alisa Kleybanova and Yanina Wickmayer scored some big upsets in Dubai and on a very similar surface they will be dangerous floaters again.
