10:30 – Petra Kvitova v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

The semifinals of the women’s singles at Brisbane will be played at the Pat Rafter Arena on Friday. The action begins with Andrea Petkovic versus fourth seed Marion Bartoli. Both of these players have looked capable of going the distance this week, and both stormed through their quarterfinal clashes. Petkovic is yet to drop a set here, whilst Bartoli has only lost thirteen games so far.

Petra Kvitova meets fifth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the second semifinal. Kvitova made it to the final four with a convincing 6-0, 6-4 win against Dominika Cibulkova. Pavluchenkova, meanwhile, progressed with a 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-3 victory over Lucie Safarova.
