Viktor Troicki aims to seal Serbia's place in the Davis Cup quarter-finals when he takes on Somdev Devvarman.

Novak Djokovic's late withdrawal from this tie opened things up a little with the defending champions unable to rely on their star man to bring them in a comfortable two rubbers. However no one expected it to be as close as it has been.

The tie has captured the magic of the Davis Cup so far, with the Indian duo of Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna rising to the occasion in front of a partisan Belgrade crowd. Bopanna may be ranked 629 but he came narrowly close to stunning Troicki in a thrilling opening rubber which the Serb only just edged in five sets.

Then Devvarman stunned everyone by outplaying the in-form Janko Tipsarevic in straight sets to level the tie.

Serbia edged the doubles in four sets but it was far from straightforward for them and there is definitely all to play for going into the final day. Devvarman's serve let his team down badly in the doubles, he dropped it five sets and he will need that to return to Friday's levels to have a chance against the big hitting Troicki.

Troicki struggled on Friday as Bopanna hammered down huge serves and surprised him with regular net charges. However Devvarman lacks that variety in his game. He will be hoping to frustrate the world number 18 in errors as he did against Tipsarevic but he will have a harder job keeping the ball out of the much taller Troicki's strike zone.

Prediction: Troicki in four
