Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez look to seal Davis Cup victory for Spain against David Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank in Saturday's doubles.
Verdasco and Lopez will be looking to do the business for Spain for the third time in a Davis Cup final and with the wind in their sails, they are surely strong favourites against a deflated Argentina.
The Spanish pair may have lost ten of their last eleven matches together on the tour but they've dented Argentina's hopes in the past. Three years ago they won a crucial doubles rubber over Nalbandian and Agustin Calleri to give Spain a decisive edge in that final and the following year they clinched a fourth title for their country with a straight sets victory over Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek.
Argentina were banking on Juan Martin Del Potro to pull off an upset against David Ferrer in Friday's second singles rubber and his five set defeat has left them staring rather heavily at defeat.
Nalbandian and Schwank have not played much together and Schwank's Davis Cup victories have mainly come against fairly workmanlike teams from Romania and Kazakhstan. And either if they do pull off victory, they know that the chances of anyone pushing Rafa Nadal remotely close in Sunday's reverse singles are slim to say the least.
Both Verdasco and Lopez have proved themselves to be consummate performers for their country in this competition over the years and look for them to clinch victory in straight sets.
